My friend (and fellow Substacker), Lyns McCracken, introduced me to Kening’s work almost a year ago, and I was immediately enchanted. Thank you for this introspective and quietly inspiring interview. It comes as I am taking a few weeks off my usual writing and publishing schedule to reflect on the last two years working on this project. Kening’s way of luxuriating in her creativity feels like a perfect invitation for me. 💜
Thank you so much for this post and interview Carolyn! I am an introverted neurodivergent person, and yet I want to share my art and create connections and dialogue in social media spaces. But at the same time, I don't want to lose myself to please algorithms or other people. I need to read your other posts from the Quietly Public series.

A trailblazer is right! So cool to learn more about Kening. I discovered her through her episode on Off the Grid, and when I saw her website my mind. was. BLOWN. I could get lost for hours there (and I have done so)! I love her podcast too and how she flips traditional marketing/biz advice on its head. Great read Carolyn - and wonderful invitation to be our truest selves, share quietly, and inhabit our own worlds 🪐

Kening is the truth. currently taking one of her classes and her way of seeing is so incredibly potent, radical and life giving. so grateful to have found her work.
The website becoming the only permanent home, then an infinity house, is such a good consequence of nomadism. Apparently the void just needed better architecture.
