Today I’m excited to share a fun activity I’ve created just for my newsletter readers!

I invite you to discover your creative archetype through a short 3-5 minute quiz. This tool will help you uncover your creative superpower and provide gentle suggestions for areas to grow 🌱 It’s the perfect companion for the slower, restful days to come as you reflect on the year and map out what’s ahead.

Meet the Four Archetypes

First, a quick caveat: no one is just one archetype for life!¹ While we all have our preferences, we're constantly evolving and growing. I see parts of myself in all of these archetypes, but there is usually one that feels most pronounced at any given moment based on my patterns.

Shapeshifter

If you are a Shapeshifter, you excel at experimenting and trying different styles and mediums. You wake up and ask yourself, “Who do I want to be today?” Predictability sounds like the worst. You may not know which version of yourself is the real you, but who cares when you’re having fun?

Strategist

If you are a Strategist, finishing creative projects is no problem when you’re armed with your Gantt charts and Notion boards. You find great satisfaction in making progress and checking off tasks, and you get a little (or a lot!) scared by playing without a plan.

If you are a Visionary, you love to dive deep into your own mind, bringing conceptual treasures to the surface. You are fantastic at seeing the big picture, but let’s face it—sometimes you get so caught up in ideation that you find it hard to sit down and make the damn thing.

If you are a Voyager, you’re all about the creative journey and documenting everything along the way. It’s a long road ahead, so you periodically lose steam and wonder how others seem to keep going without burning out.

Of course, I took my own quiz and discovered that I am a Visionary! I can’t say I am surprised, as I had SO MUCH FUN conceptualizing this quiz and creating the animated characters for each archetype.

But there is a deeper reason why I made this quiz: in 2025, I will be offering seasonal challenges to paid subscribers, starting with a 31 day creative resilience challenge in January!
